Consultation & Supervision

I offer consultation for therapists And supervision for pre-licensed clinicians in my practice.

Showing up as a therapist is itself an endeavor that can bring to the surface many of our own insecurities and relational patterns, often in unexpectedly painful and vulnerable ways. I am passionate about supporting you as you navigate your unique version of this terrain.

I am particularly sensitive to the vulnerabilities in sharing your work with another, and accepting of wherever you are on your therapist path. Our time together might include diving deep into the experiences being stirred up within a specific therapeutic dyad, or working with feelings being generated in the therapist role more broadly. I enjoy helping with the place where the practical and the clinical overlap, including issues around fees, scheduling, and burnout.

I deeply love engaging with books, articles, and podcasts and am always happy to funnel relevant ideas your way.

Some of the things I can help with in supervision and consultation include:

  • Deepening theoretical understandings of cases

  • Working with transference and countertransference

  • Impasses and stuckness in treatment

  • Developing therapeutic presence

  • Ways of listening for unconscious communication

  • Self-care both within and outside of the clinical hour

  • Recovering from and preventing burnout

  • Your own transference to being a therapist and the field of psychotherapy

  • Building a sustainable business and issues relating to finances

Therapy for Therapists

I have learned more about being a therapist from my own therapy than anything I have read or studied, excellent consultation and supervision included.

Being a training therapist or a current therapist in therapy brings its own specific alchemy. Being in the process of studying something you are also trying to experience might feel containing and generative, but it might also bring extra fuel to your critical introjects and doubts. Moreover, in the process of starting to work with patients, or even far down the line, we are led to face the unconscious schemas that led us to choose this work in the first place, which often brings us to the heart of our own wounding.

I am here to work through all of that with you, and am welcoming of and enjoy meeting all the extra levels of complexity that come with being a therapist as patient. I am also able to integrate ketamine assisted psychotherapy both for those who are interested in the modality as a clinician and as an adjunctive treatment for working through the different anxieties, depressions, and echoes of early trauma that we face on this path. If you are interested, please do reach out as I would love to learn more about your needs and answer your questions.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • I work primarily from an embodied, relational psychodynamic and psychoanalytically informed framework. I am also influenced by Analytical (Jungian) Psychology and transpersonal psychotherapy. With couples work, I will draw on attachment-based modalities, including EFT and PACT, as well as psychoanalytic models that emphasize differentiation and power dynamics. I'm happy to talk more with you about my training and the theoretical bases of my practice.

  • Please contact me to discuss my current availability and rates for both supervision and consultation, as I work with this on a case-by-case basis.

For therapy for therapists, I am generally able to give a discounted rate for those wishing to undertake more intensive (multiple sessions per week) treatment.

  • For supervision we will generally work together weekly and in line with the ratio of supervision to client hours needed.

For consultation, I am able to work weekly, biweekly, or on a more ad hoc basis (ideally once our relationship is established with some regular meetings).

The therapeutic relationship is so much about alchemy.
